Description of resource: CarePoints promotes parent-professional partnerships to enhance quality of life for children with complex and life-threatening conditions. These partnerships enable families to optimize care, find resources and support, and live out the gift and fullness of their child's life. CarePoints realizes its vision by listening to families and addressing their needs for improved care through parent and professional education, an annual conference, an on-line community resource center, and advocacy. CarePoints' On-Line Community Resource Center (www.carepoints.org) is a free resource and support center for parents, caregivers and health care professionals. The site is a place to access and contribute up-to-date information related to the care of medically complex children and their families. Visitors will find: An Easy-to-Navigate Format: packaged by theme and issue, both medical and non-medical. Snapshots: brief summaries and useful links on topics such as Navigating a Teaching Hospital and The ABCs of Equipment. Discussion Groups: to enhance communication between parents and professionals who share similar challenges from different perspectives. Resources: an extensive and up-to-date list of resources, including educational opportunities, conference offerings, and related websites.
